Cherie Mannino

A New Orleans native, born and raised in the Lower Ninth Ward on the bank of the Mississippi River, Cherie has enjoyed an exciting professional singing career in New Orleans, Los Angeles, and abroad. Her vocal experiences include New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival, French Quarter Festival, Snug Harbor, and performances with timeless greats, including Tony Bennett, and singing backup for jazz icons Keely Smith and Rosemary Clooney, as well as pop diva Linda Ronstadt.

Having moved from New Orleans after hurricane Katrina, Cherie has called Columbus home for the past 21 years, where she resides with husband, trumpeter Milo Mannino, her two children, Amelia and Matthew, and their dog, Percy. Her love of sharing music, her sense of humor, and heart-felt musical expression have made her a local favorite in New Orleans and Columbus.

Also, a Licensed Independent Social Worker, Cherie has a passion for “using music for good”. For the past 30 years Cherie has partnered with music professionals in performance and education, churches, schools, and local non-profits, to support people in need of food and shelter, community refugee and immigration services, and to promote and provide arts education & performance events and opportunities.

Cherie appears locally with various groups playing modern and traditional jazz, New Orleans music, bebop, blues, folk, rock, soul, big band music, and community singing. In Columbus for the past 21 years, Cherie has headlined shows at Natalie’s Coal Fired Pizza, Ginger Rabbit, The Refectory, The Columbus Museum of Art, and more. Grateful to be a part of Columbus’ vibrant music community, Cherie currently performs with Cap City Swing and the The Ramblers at venues, music festivals and community events in Columbus and beyond.
